The market
Posted Monday, 19 February 2007
This is a traditional Bai (a Chinese minority) market - all the women slog their guts out working the fields and in the house, bringing up the kids and selling veg at the market. Bai men drink tea and play chess, apparently. They love a bit of bean curd here; it's sold by the tray. One old woman was eating a fist-sized lump. We tried a bit and it was foul.
