Inside the market
Posted Sunday, 27 August 2006
Despite being a warren of electrical and clothes stalls the sheer enormity of the building make it airy and not as suffocating as many a South East Asian market. Next door an almost as large glass and steel shopping centre had opened where rich Khmers could spend all their money on Levi's and Clinique cosmetics. So the rumour goes, when it opened, staff were employed to teach people how to use the new-fangled and never seen before escalators.
