| I spent Sunday wandering around NYC. The view from the Empire State was pretty poor as it was still insufferably close and steamy but my timing was perfect; when got back to street level there was a full-on tropical storm going on. Sheets of rain were crashing onto the street and thumping cracks of thunder ricocheted between the skyscraper walls. For maybe half an hour I just stood around with a whole gang of stranded tourists, waiting for the rain to clear. Eventually it did, leaving me just enough time to dash across town and meet up with Thaw from Something Awful. I wasn't sure whether we'd get on (or if I'd even realise who he was) but there was no reason for concern as he turned out to be a top lad. Once the introductions were done, I believe his first words were, "So are you hungry now or shall we go for a beer first?" | ||
