A crumbling chedi
Posted Sunday, 21 May 2006
A chedi is the centrepiece of a temple, a bit like a steeple in a church. The shape is supposed to resemble an upturned bowl, a cup and a stick, I think - the three things the Buddhe possessed when he was attaining enlightenment. This chedi may even had one of the Buddha's bones inside. Chedi's, however, are supposed to gow old gracefully, like this one.
