Epic Arts Cafe Posted Sunday, 15 October 2006 |
| | | The next day, we recharged our batteries at the Epic Arts Cafe. Here, nestled in downtown, was a cafe run by a British charity whose aim it was to give disabled people work and - in a a Legz Akimbo kind of way - provide them with creative opportunities such as painting and acting.
The cafe is run by blind or deaf people and the menu was in Khmer, English and Braile. You ordered by either ticking a box on the menu or leading the waiter tothe Braile. And on the menu, in a non-toursit town nowhere near anywhere in deepest Cambodia, was Marmite on toast, bagels with Philadelphia and Earl Grey tea. That morning we feasted on familiar tastes like home sick backpackers. | | | Comments |
