crazy KL

On to Kuala Lumpa with Ellen and we again headed for the high life again, going up both high towers that look over the city to see the sun set. There was a night in a sea cabin bar that was free drinks for ladies all night ( watered down gin cocktails the bar man made us special strong ones he he he)and an ecellent caberet rivalling Brighton for drag queens. Next day we managed a day of trekking around town doing sites, a real highlight for me being the Museum of Islamic art who's building was really quite something. If you get a chance, go, even if it only for the air con. Sooo much money must have been spent on the building and the artifacts are beautiful as well. Later we went into a bit of a strange outdoor club bar thing as we were starving. We had the most 1980's experience. Imagine the scene; drinks arrived at out table, we duly explained that we hadn't ordered them then the line you only see in films...'oh no madame the gentleman over there has bought them for you'...you slowly look around and you are guaranteed they will NOT BE ATTRACTIVE, or why buy girls drinks you haven't spoken to. Anyway we felt obliged to join him. He was in KL for business, but is from Delhi. VERY soon into the conversation it was made clear by Pradeep just how rich he was, where he had flats over the world and how he reaches his holiday destinations by helicopters...this man was soo cheesy it was great...he even insisted on reading our palms (some of which he wasn't far off) and and and when I declined going dancing with him as I said I smelt from walking all day, he offered his Jacuzzi. can you imagine?! I expected at any minute he would get out a Filofax and use a phone the size of a brick to call his driver to bring round the limo. Anyway he was worth a few shots of vodka.
