Auckland
Posted Tuesday, 19 June 2007
Everyone we’d spoken to over here (including the kiwis) said what a dump Auckland was, so our expectations were low. However, when we rolled up the our hostel and found our bedroom overlooked the sky tower - the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere - and was right in the middle of a fab city, we realised everyone had been talking rubbish. Auckland’s great! The food was top and so was the atmosphere, and when we got tired we could watch foolhardy tourists fling themselves off the sky tower from the comfort of our own room.

We collected our friend Tim (pictured) who we’ll be travelling with for the next five weeks and when we leave Auckland we’re picking up a campervan - can’t wait.
