Bye Bye Thai (and Wendy) Posted Wednesday, 28 March 2007 |
| | | Next stop Bangkok, then Sydney where, in two months time, I'll catch up with Wendy again. Both on our own now. Feels strange.
The peacefulness of the Gulf of Thailand belies the fact that this part of the country is getting close to the Muslim/Buddhist flashpoint area of Southern Thailand, and that, in just a few months time, Thailand would be goverened by a military dictatorship. In fact, the main demonstrations in Bangkok took place just metres from the Khao San Road where we were staying. Whilst we sank a Tiger beer and munched on Pad Thai outside a Starbucks we could hear the heckles and the speeches. | Comment on this entry | | Diary engine © pineapplecharm.com, 2005-2024 I want one! |
